Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation

A clearer, more human digital home for hospice care.

For more than 30 years, Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation has supported patients and families across Mayo and Roscommon. We redesigned its website to make that support easier to find, easier to understand and easier to contribute to.
The new site brings care services, fundraising, volunteering, donations, events and the Foundation’s story together within one clear, accessible digital experience.

A tablet on a brown armchair displays a website with an elderly woman smiling and embracing someone, alongside information about a care facility called Sunflower Senior Living, highlighting their partnership with Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.

The challenge was bringing a lot of different needs into one simple experience.

The Hospice website serves very different people, often arriving with very different priorities. Patients and families may be looking for information about care or visiting a hospice, while supporters want to donate, fundraise, volunteer, attend an event or find a local shop.

Our challenge was to create a structure that could accommodate all of these journeys without making the experience feel complicated or overwhelming. Clear navigation, strong signposting and a carefully considered content hierarchy became central to the redesign.

A computer screen displays a website section titled Care that wraps around the whole family, describing specialist team support from Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation for families after a diagnosis or loss.

Giving care and fundraising equal space within the same platform.

Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation provides specialist inpatient and community palliative care, family and bereavement support, while also relying heavily on community fundraising and donations to sustain its work.

The new website needed to communicate both sides of that organisation clearly. Care information is given the space and sensitivity it requires, while donations, fundraising, volunteering, events and other ways to support the Hospice are woven naturally throughout the experience rather than feeling like a separate part of the site. This creates a clearer connection between what the Hospice does and the community support that makes it possible.

The new website was designed to grow alongside the organisation.

Rather than designing around a fixed set of pages, we developed a flexible system of reusable content components that could accommodate everything from patient information and hospice services to news, events, fundraising campaigns and impact stories.

That flexibility has become particularly important as the organisation enters its next chapter, including the development of Sunflower Children’s Hospice, Ireland’s first children’s hospice outside Dublin. The result is a platform that can evolve without losing the consistency and simplicity established through the redesign.

One organisation. Many audiences. A much simpler way through.

The finished website gives Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation a digital platform that better reflects the scale of its work today, from its two hospice units and community care services to fundraising, volunteering and its plans for the future. Most importantly, it makes it easier for people to find what they need, whether that’s care, information, a way to help, or a way to give.

Really happy with both the relationship and the quality of the work produced. We are also happy with the ongoing service and support after initial project delivery. Anna Connolly - Marketing Manager @ Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation
